CONSTITUTION OF FOBTOB

The name of the Association shall be "Food, Beverage and Tobacco Senior Staff Association" hereinafter referred to as "The Association".

The registered office of the Association shall be situated at 32, Isaac Street, Igbobi, Fadeyi, Lagos or at such other place as may be decided by the National Delegates Conference. The Constitution shall be deemed to be the basis of the contract between the members to establish and operate the Association.

Membership of the Association shall be open to all Senior/Management Staff, who are in the employment of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Industries in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

No person shall be deprived of membership of the Association on grounds of gender, religious persuasion, political beliefs or ethnic origin.

No new rules shall be made or any rules altered, amended or rescinded unless agreed to by a majority vote in a secret ballot at the National Delegates Conference of the Association and it shall not be effective until it is registered by the Registrar of Trade Unions in accordance with the Trade Unions Act.

Subject to the overriding authority of this Constitution, each Branch or Council may make supplementary rules for the smooth conduct of its internal affairs.

All supplementary rules shall be submitted to the Executive Secretary for the approval of the National Executive Council.

Any supplementary rule which contradicts, derogates from, or is inconsistent with the provisions of this constitution, or the Trade Unions Act shall to that extent be regarded as null and void and of no effect.

Each member shall be supplied free of charge, a copy of the Constitution of the Association on admission to membership and thereafter, each member shall be notified of amendments to the Constitution.
